DJ Headphones

Sennheiser HD 25-1 II

Imagine a DJ, picture a man standing behind the recognizable layout of gear and gadgets, his arms held high. Picture in slow motion his hands raising to the beat as the crowd in front of him instantly responds with arms raised. Imagine you are looking up at the DJ booth from the crowd as beams of light stream out behind him. Can you picture the silhouette of the DJ? I bet you imagined a man standing with arms raised and the familiar headphones resting atop his head with the cord streaming down.

Headphones are not the DJ’s most used tool, but they are also part of the icon of a DJ. Finding the right headphones is key to allowing your mixing skills to shine by allowing you to hear the details of the tracks you are mixing. It is also important that your headphones fit well and won’t hurt your head/ears after long periods of use. These days headphones are also becoming a fashion statement with many styles and colors popping up all over the place.

Because of the wide range of choices we won’t go into too much specifics on each set of headphones. You should simply try them for yourself. There is no better way to pick a set of headphones than to head down to the local Guitar Center and try some different sets on. We do provide some guidance as to where to get started.
