As a tradition, Radio Record selects the most popular electronic artist in the world as the main guest for Record Birthday. In 2014, the honor went to the then eighteen-year-old Martin Garrix, who had recently risen to stardom. In the previous two years, this prestigious role had been held by Tiesto and Armin van Buuren.

This event marked Martin Garrix's first visit to Moscow, having previously been in St. Petersburg. The stars whose music graced the airwaves of the first dance radio station also joined in celebrating Radio Record's birthday.
